Women everywhere are asking themselves the same question: how can I tell if a guy likes me or not? We’re asking ourselves, our friends and even relationship experts the question constantly but in reality it is actually quite easy for a woman to find out if a man really likes her or not. There are two main reasons why this is true, firstly because most men are open books and their body language gives them away and secondly, most women have a natural sixth sense which can help her realise when a guy is checking her out.

Most women will get an intuition when a guy likes them and in most cases this intuition is spot on. Therefore, never doubt your intuition and always go with your gut-feeling. However, sometimes we need a little more concrete evidence than just a feeling so here are a few more obvious clues to look out for.

Body language can give away a lot so make sure you are paying attention. In general, women are a lot more adept at controlling their body language than men. This means that men often unconsciously give away their feelings with their body. Here are some body language signs that you should look out for when trying to figure if a guy likes you or not.

Tentative eye contact- some men are actually quite shy men making eye contact with women they fancy so if you catch him looking at you when you’re not looking in his direction and quickly turns away when he sees you looking then chances are he finds you attractive. There’s a difference between maintaining good eye contact and a guy who leers at you. A blatantly flirty look or a leer is a sign that he finds you physically attractive but it may be that it’s just lust rather than a guy looking for a lasting relationship.

Check out his smile- if you feel a warmth and respect in his smile then the chances are he fancies you. A warm smile shows that they have adoration or admiration for you and usually means that they feels more for you than just thinking you’re hot. A nervous smile can be an indication that he finds you attractive but feels insecure about his chances with you. If you like him then put him at ease by returning a warm smile.

Watch his Adam’s Apple- if a normally confident guy appears flustered in your company, if he blushes or his Adam’s apple bobs up and down it can be a sure indicator that he likes you. Chances are he is nervous about the sort of impression he is making on you. Normally if a guy doesn’t fancy a girl they will be completely at ease in her company and won’t be nervous.

Check out his grooming habits- when a guy wants to make a good impression they often try to take better care of their looks. If a guy starts making changes to the way he dresses or his hair, after he gets to know you a bit then this may be an indication that you are having a positive impact on you. A change of clothes could be a clear indicator that they are trying impress a girl.

Posture- most guys have an unconscious way of showing off their masculinity to women. This means that they will stand tall and hold their stomachs in when in the presence of a woman they like. They are unconsciously trying to impress with their bodies.

Take notice of exaggerated behaviour- this may be a way of getting your interest. If he suddenly starts cracking jokes or talking in a loud voice when you’re around then he might be trying to impress you and prove that he is the leader of the pack.

These are just a few of the ways that you can tell if a man likes you or not. Once you are aware of the signs to look out for you will find yourself getting more used to picking up on them and will be able to find out who likes you and who doesn’t!
